So, what happened to the Facebook page, Trees of Rothbury?
It was a very strange experience to be trolled by people using fake profiles on a FB page about trees! A very ugly feeling to be the target of one (possibly two) individuals who have many profiles, which are used in order to hurt others.
After speaking to many lovely, kind, and supportive people, I decided to 'hibernate' the FB page; but I have now made a Facebook Group.
The reason for doing this is that we can control who can see the posts, and who can post on the group. This is because it is a private group which you have to ask to join. So we can quickly check if a real profile is requesting to join - someone who wishes to contribute to the conversation about trees and hedges. Or if it is someone who takes pleasure in hurting others.
Unfortunately, the anonymous trolls found these blogs, and decided to post nasty remarks on here also. So I have had to turn off commenting on the blogs as no one wants to read such nastiness. If you are here, it will be because you want to read about trees! If you would like to be part of the Rothbury Tree group on FB, look for The Trees of Rothbury and Surrounding Areas. If you are genuine, kind, interested in trees, you will be made most welcome!
