Tree Wardens have been clearing spaces to plant trees along this verge.
It has been several days of very hard physical work. We have done it this way, so as not to disturb the habitats of small creatures living here.
You would not believe the amount of horrible litter there was underneath all these dead bracken leaves, brambles and nettles. Ugh.
On Saturday 19th March Tree Wardens will be assisting, if you would like to plant a tree to mark the launch of Rothbury Tree Wardens.
On April 4th, The Leader of Northumberland County Council, Cllr Glen Sanderson, will be unveiling a plaque to commemorate this event.
But for now, if you would like to plant a tree, please come along to Beggar's Rigg between 11.00 and 12.30. We would love to see you.
